Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Stepakoff launched his career in Los Angeles, where he quickly ascended to the highest levels of Hollywood television, writing and producing for iconic series like The Wonder Years, Sisters, and Dawson’s Creek, where he served as co-executive producer.
Across his career in television, Stepakoff has been credited on more than 200 episodes, with “written by” or “story by” credits on 37 episodes and work on 15 series. He has staffed eight primetime or first-run cable writing rooms, created and developed pilots for every major broadcast network, and co-wrote Disney’s animated hits Tarzan and Brother Bear, both of which became international box office successes.
Today, Stepakoff serves as President of A-Story Entertainment, a nonprofit impact fund and visionary new studio that develops and produces high-quality, purpose-driven content. A-Story is designed to pair storytelling excellence with social impact, investing in projects that reflect diverse voices and meaningful themes while also nurturing the next generation of storytellers.

From the writers’ room to the classroom to the boardroom, Jeffrey Stepakoff has built a career around betting on bold ideas—and turning them into lasting cultural impact.


Josh launched his career at CNN and CNBC before founding a successful Washington, D.C.-based production company, where he produced high-profile content featuring prominent figures such as Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry. Leveraging his strategic mindset, Josh also excelled as a globally-ranked professional poker player, achieving a top-20 worldwide ranking that refined his analytical and strategic capabilities.
In 2022, Josh co-founded Trilith Institute, growing it from inception to a staff of over 30 full-time experts, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, operational strategy, and curriculum development. Simultaneously, he co-founded CTS Productions and CTS Consulting, where he continues to oversee all strategic operations, production, and content pipelines.
Recognized widely for his industry contributions and community impact, Josh was named one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 honorees in 2025. He holds a BA from Mercer University, an MS from Georgia State, an MBA from the University of Mississippi, and a leadership credential from Harvard Business School’s CLIMB program. He remains actively involved on boards such as Hope Givers and the Media Education Foundation of Georgia, continuing to foster innovation, strategic growth, and community-focused leadership within the entertainment sector.


Along with her work at A-Story, Mandy plays a pivotal role at the Trilith Institute, where she leads original productions and operational strategy with a focus on innovative storytelling, workforce development, and industry partnerships. Throughout her career, she has cultivated environments where creative talent thrives, striking a balance between artistic vision and practical execution to deliver exceptional results under pressure.
